A security incident at Los Angeles International Airport caught the attention of former Austin Powers cast member Verne Troyer Wednesday, who went out of his way to catch up to a man who ran after refusing to cooperate with TSA agents.

Once known for being Dr. Evil’s clone, (1/8 his size, but “twice as evil”) in the comedy trilogy, Troyer was waiting for a flight to Ohio in his electric scooter at around 11 a.m., when he heard the commotion and tracked a suspect through the airport, TMZ reports.

Video captured by Troyer shows the suspect refusing to cooperate with repeated requests by a police officer to stop and respond. After he broke free from the officer’s attempt to handcuff him, he was hit with a taser as other travelers looked on.

The New York Daily News reports the suspect was identified Thursday as 21-year-old Christian James Heinz, of Danville, CA.

Verne bragged about making away with the alleged perps hat on Twitter Wednesday afternoon:

Immediately following the incident, the 21-year-old was treated at an area hospital and released.

Heinz was reportedly not armed, and was booked into jail at 11 p.m. Wednesday for trespassing and resisting arrest, LAX spokeswoman Nancy Suey Castles told reporters.

Airport security was alerted by Transportation Security Administration officers that Heinz was not cooperating with security during screening at Terminal 6, where he shoved his way past an officer.

The incident is now under investigation.
