Vadim Bezkorovainiy, 33, a Ukrainian national resident in Luton, near London, appeared at the Old Bailey today charged under counter-terror laws for his part in a plot to attack the Russian embassy.

It is alleged that at the time of his arrest in March last year Bezkorovainiy was plotting an attack in London against the Russian embassy (pictured), for which he was charged with being ‘engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect to an intention to commit acts of terrorism’, between 27 January and 15 March 2014. He will stand trial in November.

He previously appeared at Luton Crown Court in June 2014.

Bezkorovainiy appeared at London’s Central Criminal Court at the Old Bailey by means of a video link from HMP Belmarsh, where he is being held. He wore a blue and yellow top for his appearance, which may be a symbol of defiance and an allusion to the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
