WOOD DALE, Ill., Oct. 27 (UPI) — AAR Airlift Group is to continue vertical replenishment services for U.S. Navy fleets in the Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Gulf and Indian Ocean.
The work by the company’s Airlift division comes through the Navy’s exercise of a one-year option to a 2014 contract and is worth about $6.7 million.
The contract covers the use of two of the company’s six vertical replenishment helicopters for U.S. Navy cargo, personnel, and operational and technical support services.
“AAR Airlift has provided exceptional service to the U.S. Navy at an excellent value for eight consecutive years,” said Steven B. Harrison, president of AAR Airlift Group. “We’re honored to continue providing this critical service for our military personnel.
The contract option for 5th and 7th Fleet ships was exercised by the Navy’s Military Sealift Command.
