Adrienne Bailon, Lenny Santiago end their engagement

NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (UPI) — Adrienne Bailon and longtime love Lenny Santiago are no longer engaged.

The 31-year-old television personality revealed the news on Wednesday’s episode of The Real. Bailon and the 41-year-old music executive were together six years and had announced their engagement in February.

“Through the summer, I went on my little Eat, Pray, Love journey and it was a time for me to come to terms with my own truth and my honesty,” she shared. “I am not engaged anymore, [but] we’re in a good place … We’re gonna be great friends forever.”

“I think as women, we have a hard time with change,” she offered. “But you have to be true to yourself. You have to be honest with yourself. And I think having time on my own gave me that. I’m so grateful to have girls who love and support me, and we’re gonna be okay.”

Bailon also addressed the split in a statement to Us Weekly, telling the magazine, “We had to make the decision to go with our hearts and not be embarrassed or afraid of change. He absolutely helped make me a better person and I will forever cherish the time we shared together.”

Bailon came to fame with girl group 3LW, and later starred in The Cheetah Girls movies on the Disney Channel. She has hosted The Real talk show with Tamera Mowry, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love and Jeannie Mai since 2013.
