A&E to air ‘Cosby: The Women Speak’ special Thursday

NEW YORK, Sept. 16 (UPI) — A&E says it will air Cosby: The Women Speak, a one-hour special featuring intimate interviews with some of Bill Cosby’s accusers, on Thursday.

“New and past accusers tell us their story to help piece together the downfall of one of the most respected entertainers in American history,” the cable television network said in a news release.

“First-hand accounts from the women themselves help examine the allegations, decade by decade, to reveal new information and insight into the case.”

The program will include interviews with more than one dozen women, including actress Louisa Moritz, publicist Joan Tarshis and model Beverly Johnson.

Numerous women have come forward to allege the long-married Cosby drugged and raped them in the past. Although no criminal charges have been lodged against him and the statute of limitations is up for the alleged cases, Cosby has seen his brand severely damaged by the claims with plans for a new TV series and several live shows scrapped.

While Cosby, 78, denies he abused those who approached him because they were enamored by his fame or looking for career advice, he admitted in a 2005 deposition for a lawsuit that he routinely used his celebrity status, caring image and sedatives to seduce women.
