Alek Skarlatos reunites with fellow train heroes on ‘Dancing With The Stars’

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4 (UPI) — Contestant Alek Skarlatos reunited with friends Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone in Los Angeles during Monday night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars.

After performing alongside partner Lindsay Arnold in a tribute to late Navy Seal Chris Kyle, Skarlatos joined his two friends to discuss what life is like together after they stopped a potential terrorist attack in France during a visit in September.

“We mostly just have a good time and hang out like we were before,” Skarlatos said. “I mean, that really hasn’t changed too much, I don’t think, so we’re just still three friends who want to hang out and have a good time.

The Oregon native and National Guardsman shared with People his vision for honoring Kyle — the inspiration behind American Sniper — saying he wanted the dance to represent him and his wife, Taya.

“I really wanted to have the choreography represent what he and his wife went through when he came back from deployment,” Skarlatos said. “He talks a lot about his relationship with his wife in the book, and we really just tried to portray that. It made the dance really special.”

Skarlatos, Sadler and Stone were hailed as heroes in September when they worked together to subdue a planned terrorist attack inside a French subway train. The three young American friends had been vacationing in Europe at the time. Along with a British citizen who helped them, the men were presented with France’s highest honor in August for foiling the attack.

Last month, Stone was stabbed in the chest on a street corner in California.
