Alyssa Milano, Wendy Williams debate breastfeeding in public

NEW YORK, Jan. 7 (UPI) — Alyssa Milano continues to defend breastfeeding and debated the subject with television host Wendy Williams.

Milano, who appeared on The Wendy Williams Show Wednesday in her new pixie hairstyle, did not hold back after Williams mentioned the controversy surrounding an Instagram photo the actress posted recently of herself breastfeeding her 16-month-old daughter Elizabella.

“I don’t need to see that,” Williams said looking at the photo before suggesting to breastfeed inside the car instead of out in public. Milano then pressed the television personality on why it was socially acceptable to show a photo of Miley Cyrus in a scantily clad outfit but not of a mother nursing her child.

“I don’t know why I feel this way,” Williams explained. “Breastfeeding is only a particular amount of time, [but] the rest of your life, your breasts are sexual things.”

“But biologically, they’re not made for sexual things,” Milano responded. “That’s what we’ve done to them.”

After Williams referred to breasts as “fun bags,” the former Charmed star joked, “You’re lucky the baby’s not here. I’d whip ‘em out right here and feed her on your show!”

Back in September, Milano was under fire again for posting a photo of herself breastfeeding her child to which she responded, “I’m going to keep breastfeeding, maybe even until [Elizabella is] 6! … Everyone’s fine with [Miley Cyrus’] nipples being out. I think people are more comfortable sexualizing breasts than relating them to what they were made for, which is feeding another human.”
