LOS ANGELES, Sept. 16 (UPI) — Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenaal play a divorced couple who “discover dark truths about each other” in the trailer for Tom Ford’s thriller Nocturnal Animals.
Based on Austin Wright’s book “Tony and Susan,” Adams plays Susan, a woman who never sleeps, in fashion designer/director Ford’s second cinematic project.
Susan discovers her ex-husband Edward, played by Gyllenhall, has written a novel dedicated to her — “it’s violent and it’s sad,” Susan says about the book.
She tells a friend she “did something horrible” to Edward and now, it seems, Edward wants revenge.
Nocturnal Animals also stars Armie Hammer, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher, Laura Linney, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson and premieres Nov. 18.
