LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) — Amy Adams was honored with a star Wednesday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 42-year-old American actress received the plaque in recognition of her contributions to motion pictures. Adams most recently starred in Arrival, and is also known for the films The Master, American Hustle and Nocturnal Animals.

“Amy is a multitalented award-winning actress who takes us by surprise with every new role she takes on and keeps up wanting more,” Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said in a statement.

Adams’ mom, Kathryn Adams, husband, actor and artist Darren Le Gallo, and 6-year-old daughter, Aviana Olea, were among those who attended the ceremony. The actress married Le Gallo in May 2015 after 14 years of dating.

“We always had the commitment but now he’s stuck with me and I can really act out,” she joked in an interview with The London Times in January 2016.

“I’m kidding. The truth is, I feel a stronger sense of family, a bigger sense of permanence, which is a nice thing for me,” the star shared.

Adams was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for Arrival at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, but lost to Isabelle Huppert in Elle. She is now up for awards at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the British Academy Film and Television Awards.
