Amy Poehler: I’m tired of pretending I like ‘Star Wars’

NEW YORK, Dec. 18 (UPI) — Amy Poehler revealed she’s in no way excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opens in theaters during the same weekend as her film Sisters.

During a television appearance with the rest of the Sisters cast on Late Night with Seth Meyers Thursday night, Poehler exclaimed her frustration with “pretending” to enjoy the franchise.

“I don’t care. I don’t care about Star Wars and I never [expletive] did!” she said when it was her turn to “sell” her movie using a figurine of character Constable Zuvio. “I’m sorry, I’m tired of pretending,” she added.

Some of her co-stars took the challenge in good cheer, however, with actor Ike Barinholtz holding a figure of villain Kylo Ren, played by by Adam Driver. “Why would you see a movie with the guy from Girls,” he began, “when you could see a movie with the guy from The Mindy Project?”

Actress Maya Rudolph was given a BB-8 droid figurine, with which she teased Star Wars lovers saying, “I will never know the touch of a real woman…Please go see Sisters. I don’t have feet.”

Sisters’ screenwriter Paula Pell, given John Boyega’s Finn toy, simply asserted, “Oh girl, Sisters is good…I’m going down to the space cave now,” before stuffing the toy down her pants.
