LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (UPI) — Saturday Night Live veterans Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler have begun work in Los Angeles on a yet-to-be-titled, big-screen comedy.
The New Line Cinema project marks Andrew Jay Cohen’s feature-film, directorial debut. The movie was penned by Brendan O’Brien, with whom Cohen previously wrote the 2014 blockbuster Neighbors.
“After Scott and Kate Johansen lose their daughter Alex’s college fund, they become desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university. With the help of their neighbor Frank, they decide to start an illegal casino in the basement of his house,” a synopsis for the Poehler-Ferrell comedy said.
The movie co-stars Jason Mantzoukas, Ryan Simpkins, Nick Kroll, Jessie Ennis, Rob Huebel and Cedric Yarbrough.
