Andrea Riseborough may play villain in ‘The Crow’ remake

LONDON, May 21 (UPI) — Andrea Riseborough is in talks to star in The Crow remake.

The 33-year-old English actress would portray a female version of villain Top Dollar in the film. Michael Wincott played the murderous crime boss in the original 1994 movie.

Corin Hardy will direct the remake with Boardwalk Empire actor Jack Huston as Eric Draven and Downton Abbey actress Jessica Brown Findlay rumored for Shelley Webster. The director shared a pre-production photo Tuesday on Twitter.

The original film earned over $50 million at the box office, and starred Brandon Lee and Sofia Shinas as Eric and Shelley. Lee was accidentally killed on set at age 28 in March 1993, and CGI was used to complete his remaining scenes.

Riseborough is known for Mark Romanek’s adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro novel Never Let Me Go and Rowan Roffe’s adaptation of Graham Greene thriller Brighton Rock. She also starred in Oblivion with Tom Cruise and Birdman with Michael Keaton.
