LONDON, June 20 (UPI) — In a piece entitled Six Children, Seven Different Languages, Angelina Jolie tells the BBC none of her children have any interest in being actors. A few of them want to be musicians.
“I think they like the process of film from the outside,” she said on Woman’s Hour. “Madd’s interested in editing,” she said of her son, Maddox. “We’ll see. They’re all very young.”
All the children are learning different languages, she said. “I asked them what languages they wanted to learn and Shy’s (Shiloh) learning Khmer, which is the Cambodian language.” Others are focusing on Vietnamese and German, Jolie said.
The discussion was part of Jolie’s role in BBC’s Woman’s Hour segment which aired Friday and focused on the refugee crisis.
The spot ran ahead of World Refugee Day on BBC’s flagship radio station Radio 4.
Jolie, during her segment, invited BBC listeners to imagine leaving their lives – “it’s over, in a moment” – and taking their children to live in horrid conditions in a refugee camp, The Guardian reported in a review of the show.
This was the third year the BBC has run a takeover week. The first year, it featured Harry Potter author JK Rowling and also Doreen Lawrence, mother of murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence.
Last year’s guest editors were Ultimo lingerie founder Michelle Mone and Kim Cattrall, known for her role as Samantha Jones in HBO’s Sex and the City.
