Anna Duggar on Josh’s betrayal: ‘This can’t be true’

TONTITOWN, Ark., Dec. 9 (UPI) — Anna Duggar was shocked by husband Josh Duggar’s infidelity.

The 27-year-old mother-of-four and her in-laws addressed the reality star’s cheating scandal in a new preview for TLC special Jill & Jessa: Counting On.

“I was just like, ‘I’m gonna wake up and everything’s going to be okay,’” Anna recalled. “And this really, this can’t be true.”

“Everybody makes their own decisions and everybody makes their own choices, but they’re not the only ones who suffer the consequences,” Josh’s sister Jill Duggar reflected.

Josh confessed to cheating and a pornography addiction in August, and subsequently entered a long-term rehab facility. John-David Duggar said in the promo there was no way to know about his brother’s “secret life.”

Josh’s cheating scandal came just three months after he admitted to molesting five girls, including Jill and Jessa Duggar, as a teenager. The family’s TLC reality series, 19 Kids & Counting, was canceled in the wake of the revelation.

Jill and Jessa previously addressed the abuse on the TV special Breaking the Silence in August. Part one of Jill & Jessa: Counting On will premiere Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. ET, with parts two and three to follow Dec. 20 and 27 at 9 p.m. ET.
