NEW YORK, May 15 (UPI) — When Anna Kendrick visited the Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday, the actress revealed that unlike everyone else, she’s not captivated by the royal baby phenomenon.
The actress, who is currently promoting her new film, Pitch Perfect 2, is known to be outspoken and this time she may have said what others are already thinking. “I don’t know why anybody cares about the royal baby,” she told the host. “It’s a baby. It hasn’t done anything. It hasn’t achieved anything. It was just born.”
Kendrick happened to be in the United Kingdom during Princess Charlotte’s birth and experienced first hand how excited the country gets when a new royal is on the way.
“When I was in England, it was like the city had gone crazy. There were all these flags up and there were people baking special cakes at lunch … and I was like, ‘The baby doesn’t know you’re doing that! The baby doesn’t care!’ And the baby was on a full page of the Daily Mail … it just looks like every baby! All babies look like sacks of potatoes!”
Kendrick is set to participate in an Indiana Jones spoof called “Indie Anna” in honor of NBC’s Red Nose Day May 21, which benefits children living in poverty in the United States.
