LOS ANGELES, April 10 (UPI) — Actor Corey Stoll is transformed into Ant-Man’s antagonist Yellowjacket in the first still photo of the villain.
The snapshot of Darren Cross in his black and yellow armor was shared by Entertainment Weekly Thursday three months after the film released its first trailer.
“Hank Pym’s Ant-Man suit doesn’t have a single weapon,” says director Peyton Reed, “whereas Yellowjacket is armed with plasma cannons.”

Paul Rodd will star on the film as con-man turned super hero Scott Lang (Ant-Man), who is armed with a super-suit and has the ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength. In the film, Yellowjacket is a former protege of Scott Lang’s mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) who decides to militarize the Ant-Man technology to create his suit.
Ant-Man hits theaters on July 17.
