LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) — Ariel Winter and boyfriend Laurent Claude Gaudette appear to have split.
The 17-year-old actress seemed to hint as much in a series of posts on social media over the past week. Sources told Entertainment Tonight Winter and the 18-year-old singer have indeed broken up.
“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety,” the star wrote Dec. 3, quoting psychologist Abraham Maslow. “Time to move forward, time to move on,” she added.
Winter followed up by referencing Beyonce hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” on Monday, writing, “Start of a new week, start of a new chapter.” She posted again later in the day, telling her followers, “Love doesn’t die, it simply evolves.”
“We grow up, we realize what we want,” she mused on Instagram. “I’m excited for this new chapter in my love life – love is all around.. Family, friends, pizza… The old and the new.”
Winter and Gaudette were together over two years, and attended the actress’ cousin’s wedding in October. She previously gushed about her beau to Us Weekly, calling the singer “so supportive and wonderful” and her “best friend.”
Winter is best known for playing Alex Dunphy on ABC sitcom Modern Family, which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET. The actress made headlines last month after social media users made lewd comments about a bikini photo she posted with her young niece.
