PHOENIX, Jan. 1 (UPI) — Despite dealing with several health emergencies this season, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is coming back.

“I’ll be back,” Arians recently told reporters, via NFL.com. “I ain’t going nowhere.”

Arians, 64, suffered his first losing season as an NFL head coach this year. Last season he won a career-best 13 games. He is 40-22 in four seasons for the Indianapolis Colts and Cardinals.

Arians was rushed to the hospital in August during a joint-training camp session with the San Diego Chargers due to symptoms related to diverticulitis. He was also rushed to the hospital after the Cardinals’ Week 11 loss to the Minnesota Vikings after having chest pains.

A league source told Pro Football Talk that Arians “already is making plans for offseason activities like OTAs, free agency meetings, draft meetings, and Scouting Combine preparation.”

The Cardinals battle the Los Angeles Rams at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at L.A. Memorial Coliseum. Arians is due about $7 million next season.
