Attempted Porsche thief cuts hole in roof in broad daylight

LONDON, Nov. 13 (UPI) — London police shared video of a would-be Porsche thief breaking into a car by cutting through the roof and fleeing after being unable to steal the vehicle.

The Metropolitan Police Service posted a video on Facebook of the suspect cutting through the Porsche’s convertible roof about 7:45 a.m. Sept. 29 and climbing in through the hole.

The man apparently attempted to drive the car away, but the alarm was triggered and the suspect quickly climbed out of the car.

Police said someone matching the suspect’s description was seen trying to force his way into another Porsche parked nearby about 20 minutes after the incident.

A man believed to be the same suspect was confronted by employees at JD Sports about 10:53 a.m. while allegedly trying to leave the store with shoes, a shirt and track pants that he had not purchased. The man allegedly threatened the employees with a knife.
