KANGAROO VALLEY, Australia, Oct. 9 (UPI) — A pair of Australian red bellied black snakes were caught on video in a “deadly snake dance” that saw the two serpents braiding themselves together.
The video, posted to YouTube, shows the two venomous snakes twisting together in a double helix shape in what the uploader described as a “deadly snake dance” or “tango” but may have also been a mating ritual.
The “dance” comes to an end when one of the snakes slithers off with the second serpent in hot pursuit.
The uploader wrote the video was recorded in Kangaroo Valley, New South Wales.
