LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21 (UPI) — Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting baby No. 2.

The 40-year-old English actor confirmed Hunter is pregnant after attending the Los Angeles premiere of Doctor Strange with the 38-year-old theater director Thursday.

“Everyone is absolutely thrilled,” the star’s rep told E! News.

Cumberbatch and Hunter looked the happy couple as they posed for photos at the premiere. The pair turned heads in complementary navy ensembles, with Hunter concealing her baby bump in a flowing strapless dress.

The Doctor Strange star and Hunter married on the Isle of Wight in England in February 2015, and welcomed son Christopher that June. The actor recently discussed parenthood in the November issue of Vanity Fair.

“Having a baby — it’s massive,” he told the magazine. “And on a very unexpected level. Suddenly I understood my parents much more profoundly than I ever had before.”

“I was expecting, with Hamlet, that it might be a hindrance to be a father, because it’s all about being a son. But it’s the opposite. You understand much more about being a son, becoming a father,” he added.

Doctor Strange opens in theaters Nov. 4. Cumberbatch is also slated for a number of other films, including an Andy Serkis-directed adaptation of The Jungle Book and The Current War with Nicholas Hoult.
