LOS ANGELES, Dec. 15 (UPI) — The Force Awakens, the eight installment of the Star Wars saga, premiered in Los Angeles Monday night with appearances from the franchise’s old and new stars.
Some of the the top moments from the event were:
Carrie Fisher walking the red carpet with her daughter Billie Lourd
Lourd will play an unidentified role in the forthcoming film, but the character won’t be the daughter of Fisher’s Princess Leia.

The event reunited the stars from the original Star Wars films and the protagonists of the new film.
Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega all attended the premiere.
