PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 22 (UPI) — Bill Murray skipped the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards to attend son Luke Murray’s wedding Sunday.
The 65-year-old actor forewent the annual awards ceremony to attend his 30-year-old son’s nuptials to Kara Cassidy. Luke Murray, an assistant men’s basketball coach for Xavier University, married Cassidy at The Bellevue hotel in Philadelphia, Pa.
Murray was first spotted in the city Friday, and attended the rehearsal dinner at The Acorn Club on Saturday. Felicia Graham, who performed at the ceremony, shared a photo with the actor on Instagram, saying he joined the band onstage.
Luke Murray is Murray’s youngest son by first wife Margaret Kelly. The actor is also father to 33-year-old son Homer with Kelly, and 22-year-old son Caleb, 19-year-old son Jackson, 18-year-old son Cooper and 14-year-old son Lincoln with second wife Jennifer Butler.
Murray won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his portrayal of Jack Kennison on HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge. Transparent actor Jeffrey Tambor and How to Get Away with Murder actress Viola Davis were among the other winners of the night.
Murray last appeared in Aloha with Emma Stone, and will next star with Kate Hudson in Rock the Kasbah. He is also scheduled to voice Baloo in Disney’s live-action Jungle Book, and cameo in the female-led Ghostbusters reboot with Kristen Wiig.
