LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 (UPI) — Bindi Irwin opted for her trusted khaki outfit to celebrate Halloween at an LA children’s hospital over the weekend.
The 17-year-old Dancing With The Stars contestant and daughter of late television personality Steve Irwin visited fans at the hospital, telling Entertainment Tonight next time she hopes to be able to bring a furry (or scaly) friend.
“It’s super emotional but it’s so beautiful,” Irwin said. “A few people have said, ‘I wish you brought an animal,’ so next time I’ll see if I can bring an animal.”
On Monday’s episode of DWTS, the Australian celebrity returned from her Halloween weekend (which she told ET involved tea and Monopoly) with some personal details regarding her dancing feet.
“They are really gross,” she told People after Monday’s episode of the dance competition broadcasted images of her damaged feet and lost toenails. “I feel bad that they showed all that footage.”
Irwin bandages her feet in order to dance with partner Derek Hough ever week, and recently admitted her toenails have started falling off. “They are all superglued because I actually lost another nail in dress rehearsal and if it pops off, it bleeds,” Irwin said.
The Wildlife Warrior’s feet get some TLC from her 18-year-old boyfriend Chandler Powell, however. The pro wakeboarder helps tape and soother her feet every day, she said before describing an instance when her nail popped off right in front of him.
“He said ‘Oh. It’s a good thing I love you.’ It was just so gross but I felt so bad,” she said.
