BOSTON (AP) — Survivors of the deadly Boston Marathon bombings are bracing for the release of two movies, a play and an HBO documentary about the 2013 attack.
Boston native Mark Wahlberg is expected to star in one of the films, while Jake Gyllenhaal is to star in another.
Survivors have mixed feelings about the movies. Relatives of Martin Richard, an 8-year-old boy killed in the bombings, say they wish no movies would be made about the bombings. Three people were killed and more than 260 were wounded in the attack.
But Karen Brassard, who was injured along with her husband and daughter, says she considers the attack part of history and has no problem with the films.
Several survivors say they believe Wahlberg will find a way to accurately portray the attacks and their aftermath.
