LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) — Bryan Cranston is open to reprising his role as high school teacher turned drug kingpin Walter White on AMC’s Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul.

“You know, here’s the thing. I owe [series creator] Vince Gilligan so much. He was my champion to get this role,” the actor said on The Rich Eisen Show Tuesday when asked if he would like to appear on the series.

“If they were to call me and say, ‘We have this idea, we’d like …’ – I would say: ‘Yes, you don’t have to finish the pitch, I’m there, what do you want me to do,?’” he continued.

“I would do whatever they want because I know how careful they are and proprietary they are with those characters and the storyline.”

According to Cranston, he believes his signature television role is in good hands and confident that White’s appearance on Better Call Saul wouldn’t be seen as a “stunt casting kind of thing.”

“It would be something kind of unique and obscure and creative, and I’m all in,” he said.

Cranston meanwhile has also been approached about directing an episode of the legal drama, but isn’t sure if that’s something he’s interested in doing. “I’m debating whether I want to or not because I’m a fan of the show,” he added. “There’s a part of me that says that would kind of kill it for me as a fan, to peek behind the curtain.”

Cranston has recently been cast as Zordon in Lionsgate’s long-awaited Power Rangers film reboot. “It’s motion capture, and it’s a lot of CGI-work,” the 60-year-old mentioned about the role Monday.

“The tenant of that storyline is that this a real person who is trapped in this etherworld and it becomes this in-the-wall so to speak of [the command center],” he continued about Zordon’s origin.
