Burmese python found in pile of clothes at flea market

HOMESTEAD, Fla., Sept. 28 (UPI) — Authorities in Florida said a well-fed Burmese python gave a flea market shopper a scare when the wild snake turned up in a pile of clothes.

Miami Dade Fire Rescue posted pictures of the snake to its Twitter account and said the snake was found in a Homestead flea marker seller’s pile of clothes where it had apparently “hid to digest last night’s meal.”

Lt. Scott Mullen said the snake was discovered by a young woman rummaging through the pile.

Mullen said the 7-foot-long serpent appeared to have recently eaten.

The python was turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
