Bush keeps pressure on Trump in New Hampshire

CONTOOCOOK, N.H. (AP) — Days after going toe to toe with Donald Trump on the debate stage, Jeb Bush seems to relish his new role as the Republican’s chief Trump critic.

Campaigning in New Hampshire, Bush is calling Trump a “jerk,” saying he “has no clue” on foreign policy and whacking him for lacking intellectual curiosity. At one point, Bush referred to a Trump-focused rant as “therapy.”

Bush’s frustrations with Trump are not surprising. He continues to lag in preference polls while Trump remains atop the field. He isn’t the first GOP presidential candidate to swing at Trump, but was perhaps the most aggressive in Tuesday’s debate. In New Hampshire, Bush is not letting up on his jabs, partially casting his decision to go after Trump as a move to save the Republican Party.
