Yaoundé (AFP) – A double suicide attack on a market in northeastern Cameroon on Friday has claimed at least 19 lives, local officials said.

Two female suicide bombers carried out the attack, which also wounded several people, said the officials, who did not wish to be named.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility but Cameroon’s northern border region with Nigeria is regularly attacked by Boko Haram fighters.
