NEW YORK, Oct. 14 (UPI) — Carey Mulligan revealed her daughter’s name on the red carpet Monday.
The 30-year-old English actress told Entertainment Tonight she and husband Marcus Mumford named their firstborn Evelyn at the New York premiere of her new film, Suffragette.
Mulligan quietly announced she had given birth by showing up to a BFI London Film Festival photocall visibly not pregnant Oct. 7. She revealed she welcomed a daughter “three weeks ago” during an appearance Sunday on The Graham Norton Show.
The actress and Mumford have known each other since childhood, and married in April 2012. The couple collaborated on the 2013 film Inside Llewyn Davis prior to their wedding, and word Mulligan was expecting broke in June.
Mulligan will play Maud Watts in Suffragette, which co-stars Meryl Streep and Helena Bonham Carter, and opens in theaters Oct. 23. Mumford co-founded the band Mumford & Sons in 2007, and released his third studio album with the group, Wilder Minds, in May.
