Carrie Underwood returns for third year to sing ‘Sunday Night Football’ theme song

NEW YORK, June 25 (UPI) — Carrie Underwood returns to sing the “Sunday Night Football” theme song for the third year in a row.

On Tuesday, Sunday Night Football and Underwood posted a series of tweets that confirmed the news.

The singer was joined with NFL superstars like Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys, Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants and more to film the “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” theme song for the 2015 season, Rolling Stone reports.

In a snapshot from the shoot, Underwood can be seen smiling in a silver sequined mini-dress and rocking her post-baby body only four months after giving birth to son Isaiah Michael Fisher.

The new opening sequence for Sunday Night Football will premiere on Sept. 10th at 8:30 p.m. on NBC, when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on 2014 champions, the New England Patriots.
