NEW YORK, Oct. 28 (UPI) — ABC announced Wednesday that Carrie Underwood will be headlining New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with host Ryan Seacrest on Dec. 31.

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than New York’s Times Square, one of the most magical places in the world, to ring in the new year,” Underwood said in a statement. “It’s going to be a memorable night, and I can’t wait to celebrate with the world!”

Seacrest joked with Underwood on Twitter, reminding the singer to bring some warm clothes. “hey @carrieunderwood I hope u have long johns and good ear muffs.. I’ll see u in times square for @OfficialNYRE 2016!,” he wrote, followed by a more encouraging tweet highlighting his excitement. “if there’s one girl who will make sure our clock don’t stop on new year’s eve, it’s @carrieunderwood ;).”

Recently, Underwood released her Storyteller tour dates to promote her latest album of the same name.
