Celebrity house swap: 8 star-crossed real estate deals

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) — The rich and famous looking for housing in Hollywood often find their best prospects have been owned by other stars.

Here’s a look at some of the most famous celebrity house swaps.

1. Chrissy Teigen, John Legend and Rihanna

The couple, who are expecting their first child together, reportedly purchased Rihanna’s old Beverly Hills house for $14.1 million.

2. Eva Longoria and Tom Cruise

In 2015, the Telenovela star paid $11.4 million for a Hollywood Hills compound that once belonged to Tom Cruise.

3. Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Simpson

The Hunger Games darling famously bought Jessica Simpson’s five-bedroom pad in Los Angeles for $7 million in 2014. The custom-made mansion was built in 1991 and includes designing touches from Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic couture store.

4. Dr. Dre and Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen

Producer Dr. Dre is probably one of few people who could afford Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s $50 million property in Los Angeles. Dre and his wife, Nicole, purchased the 14,300-square-foot estate in 2014.

5. Khloe Kardashian and Justin Bieber

In 2014 the reality star bought Justin Bieber’s infamous Calabasas mansion. Bieber decided to sell the property after being charged for throwing eggs at a neighbor’s front door.

6. Kaley Cuoco and Khloe Kardashian, Lamar Odom

The Big Bang Theory actress purchased Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s home in Tarzana, Calif., following their split.

7. Jessica Simpson and The Osbournes

The singer turned fashion designer paid $11.5 million for the Osbourne’s Hidden Hills home in 2013. The sale was reportedly a deal as Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne paid $12.4 million for the six-bedroom property in 2007.

8. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz and Eddie Murphy

The couple purchased a 5.42-acre compound from Eddie Murphy in 2014. Keys and Beatz are selling the 25,000-square-foot mansion. Asking price: $14.9 million.
