LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 (UPI) — Cheryl Boone Isaacs was re-elected this week for a fourth term as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Boone Isaacs heads CBI Enterprises, Inc., where she consults on film-marketing efforts. She is also an adjunct professor at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts and serves as a trustee of the American Film Institute, an academy press release noted.

She previously served as president of theatrical marketing for New Line Cinema where she oversaw numerous box office successes, including Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Rush Hour.

Boone Isaacs has led a campaign in recent years to make the membership of the academy — which bestows the prestigious Oscars for excellence in film — more diverse. This year, the academy has added nearly 700 new members, many of whom are people of color.
