Chris Brown to kick off Las Vegas residency on fight weekend

LAS VEGAS, April 1 (UPI) — Chris Brown is headed to Vegas.

The 25-year-old rapper will kick off his residency at Drai’s BeachClub & Nightclub in Las Vegas on May 2, the same night Floyd Mayweather will fight Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand.

Brown’s second show is scheduled for July 4, according to Vibe.

News of Brown’s gigs in Sin City comes at the heels of the end of his probation stemming from his guilty plead after he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. The controversial rapper has also been in the news as of late over reports that he fathered a 9-month old baby and his breakup with on-and-off girlfriend Karruche Tran.
