BOWLING GREEN, Ohio, April 3 (UPI) — Bowling Green’s head coach Chris Jans was fired from the university after a video surfaced of him slapping a woman’s rear end.
He was seen at a local bar slapping the woman on March 21. The video was obtained by several media outlets, including SI.com. An investigation was conducted and it was found that Jans was a “sloppy drunk” who slapped the buttocks of one woman and called another “a [expletive].”
His termination cited a “breach of comportment obligations” in his contract, allowing them to refuse to pay out his contract.
Jans signed a six-year deal worth $325,000 annually and still has more than one million left on the contract.
Assistant Mark Downey is taking over daily operations of the program until a replacement is found.
