NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (UPI) — Chrissy Teigen celebrated her 30th birthday with husband John Legend on Saturday.
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, who officially turns 30 on Monday, was fêted at a surprise party at the Comedy Cellar in New York. Legend serenaded Teigen with “Happy Birthday” and tapped comedian Dave Chappelle to perform at the event.
Legend commissioned a special menu from Momofuku restaurant for the celebration, which included tuna tataki, shiitake buns and chilled spicy noodles. Sources told Us Weekly he presented his wife with an elaborate cupcake birthday cake.
Teigen and the 36-year-old singer have been together since 2007, and married in September 2013. The model announced she is pregnant with her first child in October, and shared a new photo of her growing baby bump this month.
The model faced backlash the day before her party for voicing her support for Planned Parenthood in the wake of the Colorado Springs shooting. She and Legend donated to the organization following the attack, and encouraged others to do the same.
Teigen has appeared in five Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues, and co-hosts Lip Sync Battle and The FABLife. Legend last released Love in the Future in August 2013, which includes the Teigen-inspired hit single “All of Me.”
