Jan. 26 (UPI) — Free agent Scott Feldman has already passed his physical after being signed by the Cincinnati Reds.

The right-handed starting pitcher agreed to a one-year, $2.3 million deal with the team Wednesday, according to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. The deal includes $2.2 million in incentives. Feldman was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays after kicking off 2016 as a member of the Houston Astros. He owned a 3.97 ERA in 77 innings between the two teams.

Feldman, 33, was acquired by the Blue Jays in exchange for RHP Guadalupe Chavez in an August swap. He spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Texas Rangers. Feldman posted 17 wins in 2010 with the Rangers. He has also had stops with the Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles. Feldman has a 4.40 career ERA in 12 seasons. He is 71-77 during his career as a starter and relief pitcher.

The Reds have two vacancies in its rotation, but has several young arms vying for those spots. The team shipped Dan Straily to the Miami Marlins last week.

“I think that one of the more attractive things about Cincinnati was they obviously wanted me there, which you have to have that first and foremost,” Feldman told MLB.com. “Also, in talking with them a little bit, the opportunity if I do go out there and pitch well, I think there’s a good opportunity for me there.”
