Clinton rallies with female Senate Democrats _ except Warren

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Clinton is getting a public embrace from 13 female Democratic senators who are endorsing her presidential campaign. But there’s one noticeable absence: Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Clinton was feted at a Capitol Hill fundraiser by a long line of female Senate Democrats who say they’re ready for a Clinton presidency.

The former secretary of state says, “If you’re ready for me, I’m ready for you.”

Warren told the Boston Globe in September that she would likely endorse during the primaries but said at the time, “Right now that’s not where we are.”

After declining a draft movement to run for president, Warren has played a major role pushing the Democratic field to address income inequality, college affordability and other economic issues.

Warren’s spokeswoman declined comment on the Clinton event.
