WASHINGTON (AP) — One of Vice President Joe Biden’s former campaign staffers who was a close adviser to his late son has joined the super PAC urging Joe Biden to run for president.

Will Pierce, executive director of Draft Biden, says Democratic operative Josh Alcorn is now affiliated with his group.

Alcorn was the top political and fundraising adviser to Joe Biden’s son, former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, who died in May of brain cancer. Alcorn also raised money for Joe Biden’s 2008 presidential campaign.

The move comes as Biden’s associates have resumed discussions about a 2016 run after having shelved those discussions during Beau Biden’s illness and death.

Pierce says Alcorn will assist with the super PAC’s fundraising. Draft Biden isn’t officially affiliated with Joe Biden.
