LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (UPI) — 20th Century Fox have started the 12 days of Deadpool holiday countdown which will lead up to a new trailer on Christmas day.
The promotion will release new Deadpool related content and information on each of the 12 days leading up to the trailer reveal across different media outlets.
Star Ryan Reynolds appeared as the fourth-wall breaking “merc with a mouth” in a holiday video posted to Twitter Monday announcing the countdown sitting in front of a Christmas tree drinking from a glass of eggnog.
“Hi. I’m Deadpool. The other jolly guy with a red suit with a lap worth sitting on,” he quips before stating that “it’s time for St. Wade to put the ‘win’ in winter wonderland.”
The first piece of content released consisted of a new promotional poster for the upcoming superhero action-comedy with a zoom in perspective of Deadpool’s belt as he holds a gun. “Cocked. Locked. Ready to rock. #12DaysofDeadpool has begun,” the studio wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of the poster.
Directed by Tim Miller and also starring Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Andre Tricoteux, and Leslie Uggams, Deadpool opens in theaters Feb. 12.
