Curry ties his own NBA record for most 3s in a season

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has tied his own NBA record for 3-pointers in a season.

Curry equaled his mark of 272 3-pointers Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. He entered the game four 3s shy of the record, which he set two years ago in the season finale at Portland.

The MVP candidate made four 3s in the first quarter, tying the mark with a shot near the top of the arc after coming off a pick-and-roll with Draymond Green. He shot 4 of 8 from 3-point range in the quarter.

Ray Allen held the previous record of 269 3-pointers with the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2005-06 season.
