STAMFORD, Conn.
A New York City TV news anchor accused of choking his wife at their Connecticut home has been ordered to stay away from her.

The clerk’s office at Stamford Superior Court says a judge issued an order of protection on Tuesday against WCBS-TV’s Rob Morrison.

He has to stay 100 yards away from Ashley Morrison except when they’re both at work. She works for “CBS Moneywatch.”

Morrison was charged Sunday with strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct. Police said he had been belligerent toward his wife and had his hands wrapped around her neck.

They said he kept threatening her while he was being processed.

His lawyer, Robert Skovgaard, did not enter a plea. On Monday, he said the allegations have been exaggerated.

Morrison is due back in court March 26.
