LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) — Dakota Johnson laughed off a wardrobe malfunction Wednesday at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards.
The 26-year-old actress was onstage when presenter Leslie Mann accidentally unzipped her dress during a hug. Johnson was accepting her award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress.
“Leslie just broke my dress,” the star announced to the audience before joking, “Well, it’s not like nobody here hasn’t already seen my boobs.”
Johnson appeared topless as Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey, and was nominated for the role. The film itself was nominated for Favorite Dramatic Movie, but lost to The Martian starring Matt Damon.
Fifty Shades of Grey opened in February, and earned $570 million at the box office. Johnson will return for sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, and recently told British Vogue she is happy to star in the popular adaptations.
“I’m proud of Fifty Shades of Grey,” she said. “I don’t need to distance myself from that. The more work I do, the more the general public sees the different things I can do. Do I think it opened doors? Yeah. More people know my name.”
Melissa McCarthy and Taylor Swift were among the other winners at the People’s Choice Awards. Johnson will next star in How to Be Single with Rebel Wilson, and will return as Ana in Fifty Shades Darker in 2017.
