NEW YORK, Sept. 23 (UPI) — Dakota Johnson and on-again, off-again boyfriend Matthew Hitt re-sparked romance rumors this week.
The 25-year-old actress and 28-year-old Drowners frontman appeared to be back on as they held hands on a stroll in SoHo. Johnson had declared herself single just days previous on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I guess they’re scared of me,” she said of potential suitors’ responses to her Fifty Shades of Grey role. “They either love me or they’re running for the hills. I guess they’re running for the hills.”
Johnson and Hitt were first linked in spring 2014, and broke up earlier this year. The couple reunited shortly after, and were seen holding hands on a similar walk in New York in May.
The actress portrays Ana in Fifty Shades of Grey, and will begin filming sequel Fifty Shades Darker in 2016. She most recently appeared in Black Mass with Johnny Depp, and is also scheduled for How to Be Single with Alison Brie.
