Diamondbacks announce new closet of uniforms

PHOENIX, Dec. 3 (UPI) — The Arizona Diamondbacks have no shortage of options next season when it comes to uniform creativity.

The team announced eight new uniform combinations Thursday on its Twitter account. Last season’s 79-83 record could at least look better this season at Chase Field.

Black, gray, white and red jersey’s feature designs made to resemble snakeskin and bring back the snakehead logo.

The new design also features cuffed pants, which blend into specific shoes made to match each uniform. New road uniforms are a much deeper shade of gray, with a black “Arizona” on the front of the jersey, outlined in red and white. New road uniforms also feature a stripe down the side of the pants that starts mid-thigh.

“We always challenge ourselves to make sure that we are as pioneering and as innovating as any team in sports – we try to be,” team President and CEO Derrick Hall told AZ Central. “We looked at an opportunity when it comes to baseball to really advance the look of uniforms.

“We try to advance all fan bases and get through to a very young audience as well.”

The Diamondbacks’ new home uniform features a white outfit that can be paired with five different caps. A white uniform with teal and gray accents gives the Diamondbacks an alternate home choice. Several gray road alternate uniforms offer similar alterations with red and teal accents.

The Diamondbacks can also choose from several black alternate jerseys with the same accents or a throwback version of the team’s white, purple and teal uniform.
