NEW YORK, Nov. 22 (UPI) — Sharp-eyed Sherlock fans likely will spot two of the small-screen mystery’s players — Mark Gatiss and Andrew Scott — in the new movie Victor Frankenstein.
The link between the projects is director Paul McGuigan.
“As far as Mark Gatiss and Andrew Scott, obviously, I worked with them on Sherlock,” McGuigan told UPI in New York recently when asked about casting the pair in supporting roles in his latest movie.
“I’m a big believer in working with people that you admire and like because you worked with them before. So, you know exactly how they work and what they are capable of. I would work with James and Daniel [again] in a heartbeat… just seeing the amount of effort. You talk about being professional, it goes beyond that, really. And, so, if you want to be smart, you just get the people that you know that are your favorite actors that you like to work with.”
Starring James McAvoy as the titular mad scientist and Daniel Radcliffe as his brilliant partner Igor, Victor Frankenstein opens in U.S. theaters Wednesday.
Gatiss and Scott played the recurring roles of Mycroft Holmes and Jim Moriarty on Sherlock, which is heading into its fourth season.
