LOS ANGELES, April 13 (UPI) — Warner Bros. says Michelle MacLaren is no longer set to helm the big-screen superheroine picture {i:Wonder Woman}.
“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct {i:Wonder Woman} together,” the studio said in a statement Monday, without naming MacLaren’s replacement.
{link:Variety said the film: “http://variety.com/2015/film/news/wonder-woman-director-leaves-michelle-maclaren-1201471677/”,nw} was in pre-production at the time of MacLaren’s departure and it is unclear whether the development will affect its slated June 23, 2017 release date.
Gal Gadot is still attached to play the title character, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
MacLaren’s screen credits include episodes of the celebrated TV shows {i:Breaking Bad} and {i:Game of Thrones}.
