Djokovic faces Federer in finals; Serena Williams there, too

MASON, Ohio (AP) — Novak Djokovic had to rally against a lowly qualifier to get another shot at a title he’s never won. Next in his way: Roger Federer, who has more Cincinnati trophies than anyone else.

Djokovic recovered from a slow start and pulled away to a three-set victory over qualifier Alexandr Dolgopolov on Saturday, reaching the finals of the Western & Southern Open.

The top-ranked player has never won at Cincinnati, the only Masters title that has eluded him. He’ll face Federer, a six-time champion who has never lost a Cincinnati title match. Federer beat Andy Murray in straight sets.

Serena Williams also reached the finals of a tournament she won for the first time last year, beating 14th-seeded Elina Svitolina in straight sets.
