LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 (UPI) — Drew Barrymore looked gorgeous in a red dress and pumps in a sneak peek of her new dark comedy series Santa Clarita Diet.
The 30-second video, which is a send-up of popular, weight-loss ads, aired during Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony on NBC. It was also posted on social media.
“After the first day, I knew this wasn’t like any other diet,” Barrymore brightly speaks into the camera.
“I satisfy all my cravings and eat whoever I want. And I only eat the foods that deserve it,” she said, reaching for a piece of pulpy matter in a bowl, which also includes an eyeball. “Ready to take your life to a whole new level of ‘wow?’ The Santa Clarita Diet. The first month is free.”
The show is to debut on Netflix Feb. 3.
“In Santa Clarita Diet, Joel [played by Timothy Olyphant] and Sheila [Barrymore] are husband and wife realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teen-aged daughter Abby [played by Liv Hewson,] until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction… but in a good way,” a synopsis said.
